Many years of IT application development experience in Retail, Manufacturing, Health Care, and the Financial Industry.

Describe your typical day.

Up at 5:20 AM, out the door at 6:15 AM. Stop at Panera’s for a coffee and a muffin before getting to the office. Home at 5:30 PM. Do some chores, watch some TV, then start it all over again.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

Solving business problems, database design, and implementing business solutions.

Tell us about the most memorable moment of your career.

Doing an upgrade to a new mainframe system (back in the day). Worked during the day to prep then drove 1 hr. to another site to test all night. Weeks of work but very successful in the end.

What career advice do you have for someone just starting out in IT?

Learn as much as you can and be willing to take on the hard projects.

What will be the biggest tech trend of the next 5 years?

Rapid expansion of Artificial Intelligence in business and personal applications. Data collection and integration will be key in this effort. Plus, we cannot forget about all the advancements yet to come in the Automotive industry. Self-Driving cars are on the way.

Do you have a favorite software program?

Waze. Nice to know where you need to behave.

What’s your favorite thing to do in the Richmond area?

Attend NASCAR racing.

Describe your favorite meal.

My wife’s Spaghetti with Meat Balls.

What’s your favorite song?

Can’t pick one, but I do like Country music.
