Professional Background in one sentence: 

I have worked for Manufacturers to Insurance companies as well as owned my business and seems that I am presented with lots opportunities that are not limited to any one discipline (IT Jack of all trades due to experience).

Describe your typical day. 

Arrive at client, check system for health and begin to work on current project. Stop project work when an issue arrives and put current fire out.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job? 

Creating software that leverages business situations into a market advantage. Watching people use what I designed and built.

Tell us about the most memorable moment of your career. 

Hard to pick one… Pretty much any successful and useful project I have completed.

What career advice do you have for someone just starting out in IT?

Be open to all opportunities because experience trumps certifications always as well as broadens your knowledge base and viewpoint. With each new opportunity, it seems I learn more about a business and IT marriage.

What will be the biggest tech trend of the next 5 years?

Social Media as it matures in the private and public use, there is going to be considerable change to protect the consumer as well as the providers.

What’s your favorite thing to do in the Richmond area?

Two things: competitive tennis (training and playing) as well cooking at charitable culinary events (French Food Festival). I have my culinary degree from the University of Richmond.

Describe your favorite meal.

A nice salad with fresh summer vegetables with blue cheese dressing, a hearty first course such as oysters three ways (poached, broiled, wrapped in bacon and lightly fried), steak Diane (red wine, cognac mushroom sauce), and some chocolate dessert or carrot cake.

What’s your favorite song?

Anything from Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Do you have a hidden talent?

Culinary Skills.

What’s your favorite thing to drink in the morning?

Coffee or water.

The best movie you’ve ever seen is:

Fletch (it is not the best, but my favorite).

What’s your most prized possession?

My traveling knife set and culinary tools.
