I’m a 10+ year IT professional with networking and application support experience.

Describe your typical day.

My day typically begins with quiet preparation for work so as not to awaken my wife. After 8 fulfilling hours of supporting users, I’ll spend the rest of the evening entertaining my wife with as many laughs as possible until it’s time to do it all again the next day.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

Knowing that people appreciate what I do and are glad to have me around.

Tell us about the most memorable moment of your career.

The first time I was told I was getting a promotion. I didn’t even think I was in the running. I was pulled to the side and told that the supervisors had met and discussed how they felt I was more valuable in a higher position. That conversation showed me that if I was capable of that type of confidence from superiors without knowing, then what could I achieve if I focused all my energy towards surpassing my own expectations.

What career advice do you have for someone just starting out in IT?

Never stop ingesting new information. IT changes with the tide and skills you acquire today could be obsolete tomorrow.

What will be the biggest tech trend of the next 5 years?

Likely building on Smart devices. The abundance which increases the ease of accumulation. More autonomy with less human input such as self-driving cars or homes that can detect needs without intervention.

Do you have a favorite software program?

Photoshop. It’s an incredible tool with limitless possibilities for those that enjoy visually creating. It’s massive set of abilities commands great respect to the developers.

What’s your favorite thing to do in the Richmond area?

Visit a park and enjoy the scenery.

I’m an excellent photographer.
