Describe your typical day. Being a field tech, days are anything but typical. I could be working on a migration one day and a disaster recovery the next. The constant change keeps things interesting.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job? Taking the stress off the end user and getting them to a point where they can do their job without IT issues.
Tell us about the most memorable moment of your career. The most memorable moment of my tech career was 23 years ago when I got my first real IT job. It was only a computer sales role, but it got my foot in the door.
What career advice do you have for someone just starting out in IT? Learn all you can from people that have done this for years. Never be afraid to say that you don’t know something, but always follow up with “I will find out for you though”.
What will be the biggest tech trend of the next 5 years? Cloud Computing
Do you have a favorite software program? Adobe Photoshop
What’s your favorite thing to do in the Richmond area? Fishing. I really love to fish.
Describe your favorite meal. My favorite meal is barbecue, especially brisket.
What’s your favorite song? November Rain by Guns and Roses.
Do you have a hidden talent? I can scratch a lottery ticket like nobody’s business.
What’s your favorite thing to drink in the morning? Sweet Tea.
The best movie you’ve ever seen is: Rounders
What’s your most prized possession? The 10 acres of land my wife and I own in the middle of nowhere.
